What is Aurnet?

Aurnet is church management software and a member app for a church's whole week: people, rotas, Gift Aid giving, Bible plans and chat. Leaders run the church from a full web admin, and members use a free app on iPhone and Android. It runs a church of 30 members to 1,500 on one system.

What does Aurnet cost?

There's a free plan for up to 30 members, with no time limit and no card. Paid plans are Starter at £49 a month (up to 150 members), Growth at £99 (up to 600) and Pro at £179 (up to 1,500), with about 16% off when paid yearly. No VAT is added to these prices; Aurnet is not currently VAT registered. Members never pay for the app. Worship Studio is an optional £20 a month on any plan. Online giving carries one all-in fee of 3.5% + 20p per gift, with card processing included.

Are there any other costs, such as SMS or email?

Email to your members is included, with a monthly allowance by plan: 100 on Free, 500 on Starter, 2,000 on Growth and unlimited on Pro. There's no per-email charge. Bulk SMS is on Starter and above, and is sent through your church's own Twilio account, so Twilio bills the church for the texts. Extra storage beyond your plan is £0.50 per GB.

Where is our data stored?

In the EU, on Amazon Web Services in Stockholm. Error monitoring is also hosted in the EU. Some providers we rely on are based outside the UK and EU. Transfers to Stripe, Amazon Web Services and Sentry are covered by each provider's data processing agreement, which incorporates the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The full list of providers is in our privacy policy.

Who controls our members' data?

Your church does. The church is the data controller and Aurnet is the processor, acting on your instructions. Our Data Processing Agreement is published at aurnet.co.uk/dpa. Aurnet Limited is registered with the ICO (ZC101797) and in England and Wales as company 16959994.

Can different leaders see different things?

Yes. Each person has a church role (admin, management, moderator or member), and can also hold functional roles such as finance, pastoral or safeguarding. Giving records are visible only to the church admin and to people given the finance or trustee role; management don't see giving unless they're given it. Department and group leaders can manage their own teams without church-wide admin access.

Is there an audit trail?

Sensitive actions are written to an audit log, with who did what and when: role and permission changes, imports, giving setup, check-in, moderation and safeguarding access. The audit log is included on Starter and above. When a safeguarding lead opens a reported conversation, they have to give a reason, and that access is logged.

How are pastoral notes and safeguarding kept separate?

Pastoral care notes are visible only to people with the pastoral role; church admins and management have it automatically. A case can also be marked restricted, so only the person who opened it and the person caring for it can see it, or highly restricted, so only the person caring for it can. Reports about someone's safety go to the church's safeguarding lead (other reports go to the moderators), and every time the lead opens a reported conversation it's logged with a reason. Each church sets its own safeguarding policy; Aurnet gives it the tools to oversee, not a policy of its own.

Do you do children's check-in?

Yes, for churches on Starter and above. Check-in is a QR code on the teacher's phone that rolls on a timer; parents scan it to drop off and to collect. The church sets a minimum age for anyone collecting a child, and can choose to require a known age. It works on iPhone today, and comes to Android with the next Android release; the rules and registers are in the web dashboard.

How does Gift Aid work?

Members make their Gift Aid declaration in the app, and their gifts are marked as eligible. When it's time to claim, the treasurer downloads the HMRC schedule and the church submits the claim itself. Gift Aid is for UK churches only.

Can you move our records over from our current system?

You can invite members by email, or import a spreadsheet (CSV) of your members from the dashboard. Anyone new gets an email to set up their account. Your finance team can also import past giving records. We don't offer a done-for-you migration service, so the import is something your church runs itself.

What happens to our data if we leave?

You can export your member list, events, giving records and Gift Aid schedule as CSV files from the dashboard at any time, and on Growth and Pro your accounts for Xero or QuickBooks. Each member can also download their own data. If you leave, we close your church's account on request and delete its data. Giving and Gift Aid records are the exception: they're kept for six years for HMRC, then deleted.

How is our data backed up?

The database is backed up automatically every day and backups are kept for seven days, in the same EU region (Stockholm). The database is also protected against accidental deletion.

Can we speak to churches already using Aurnet?

Not yet, and we'd rather say so plainly. Aurnet went live on the App Store in July 2026, and the first churches are onboarding now. The first case study is planned for December, with that church's agreement. Until then, a good way to judge it is to set up the free plan and try it with a few leaders, using sample data rather than real member records.

How new is Aurnet?

Aurnet Limited was incorporated in January 2026. It was built in Birmingham by Sam Okoye, a church member, for churches like his own. Being new means less track record, so everything on this page is written to be checkable: our privacy policy, DPA, prices and company details are public.

Do members have to pay, or see adverts?

No. The app is free for members on iPhone and Android. Church data is never used for advertising or profiling.
